The Beauty of Beginning Again: Finding Your Rhythm After the Rush

Have you ever looked up in September and thought, Wait… how is it already this far into the year?
That’s exactly where I found myself recently.
There’s been so much movement this year, not all of it fast-paced, but definitely full. And somewhere in the fullness, I realised I’d started slipping out of rhythm with myself.
Not in a dramatic way. But in that quiet, subtle way where you’re getting things done… but you’re also feeling a little disconnected, stretched, or just off.
If that resonates with you, I want you to know, you're not alone.
A Soft Reset
One thing I’ve learned (the hard way) is that just because we’ve drifted from ourselves doesn’t mean we’re lost.
Sometimes, we don’t need to push harder. We just need to pause. To breathe. To listen.
September has always felt like a reset month to me. A chance to regroup. To let go of the pressure to be “on” all the time. To gently begin again, not with a big plan or a perfectly colour-coded journal, but with a soft return to what feels right for you.
How Do You Know You’re Out of Rhythm?
In my own experience, it starts small:
You feel rushed, but don’t know where you’re going
You keep saying yes when something in you whispers no
You’re ticking boxes but feeling… numb
You know you need rest, but you don’t know how to let yourself rest.
It’s usually not one big moment, but a build-up of micro-disconnections. And then one day you wake up and think, Where did I go?
What “Beginning Again” Actually Looks Like
I used to think starting over meant big change. These days, I know it’s far gentler than that.
Beginning again is:
Choosing a walk in the sunshine over one more load of washing
Saying no to something small, and feeling proud of that boundary
Writing in your journal for the first time in weeks
Giving yourself permission to change your mind.
It’s messy. It's honest. And it’s yours.
You don’t have to fix everything. You don’t need a whole plan.
Just one choice that brings you back to yourself… and then another.
A Different Kind of Leadership
You’ve probably heard me talk about “self-leadership” and I know that term can sound a bit big or serious. But really, it’s so simple.
It’s the way you come home to yourself when the world has pulled you in a hundred directions.
It’s the courage to pause, to ask, What do I need right now? and to actually listen to the answer.
It’s quiet. It’s personal. And it’s the most powerful thing I’ve ever learned.
Because when you’re leading yourself from a place of presence, instead of pressure, everything else starts to soften too.
Want Support in Beginning Again?
If this message has landed in your body with a little “yes” I want you to trust that.
This might be the nudge to let go of the guilt, the overwhelm, or the unrealistic expectations… and start again. Gently. In rhythm with you.
If you feel like you need support with that, I’d love to invite you to check out my Self-Leadership Blueprint sessions.
They’re 90 minutes, 1:1, deeply personalised (through the lens of Human Design), and designed to help you make aligned decisions, protect your energy, and move through life with more clarity and calm.
✨ Just for email subscribers, I’ve opened a handful of sessions at a special rate for October (I'm away for most of September). First in, best dressed. Email me at yoursanctuaryspaceinfo@gmail.com if you'd like some more info or to book your online session.
And of course, if you’re not sure where to start, you can simply email me or send me a DM on Insta. I’m always happy to have a confidential chat and explore what kind of support might feel right for you.
You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to take the first gentle step.
Here’s to beginning again, softly, bravely, and in your own time.
Whenever you’re ready, I’m here.
